A reinterpretation of masterpieces of art history. Classic “verpoppt” and in a new light.
“Translated” into the language of the artist.
The creation of Adam is an often reproduced excerpt from the ceiling fresco by the painter Michelangelo Buonarroti in the Sistine Chapel in Rome. It belongs to a cycle of 9 individual frescoes. It depicts how God breathes in the soul of Adam.
God floats in front of a large cloth surrounded by numerous putti. Under his left arm a young female figure looks at Adam. This is seen by many art historians as the prefiguration of the unborn Eve.
The original fresco by Michelangelo on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel was built between 1508 and 1512.
